Our Junior Elite Company did GREAT at our fund raiser! They had a bakesale and.....Bagged items at a store! They were tipped for the bagging (some of the customers gave $20 or $30!). We raised

$969.20!!!!!!!

Anyone else have some great fund raisers planned or that have already taken place?

Wow, what a successful fundraiser. How many kids worked to raise that much and how did you split it up amongst those who worked (ie. $X per hour worked??).

How did you set it up with the Supermarket? Did some of the parents stay and 'supervise' the kids?

I've heard of the bagging groceries for tips, but our teens said no way they would bag groceries in stores where their friends shop. Teenagers - go figure.

My dd is still 'pre-teen' so if it means her helping raise some money for her dance tuition, she might go for it. If all the kids in the goup participated, they'd probably have fun.

We had 12 girls working and we just split up the total by 12 and that money went towards their first comp. I am not really sure how they set it up but i imagine it all started with a visit to the manager or owner of the store (?)!

Thanks Deanne,
I asked DD and she thought it was a great idea - apart from needing the funds, I think it's important to see how long it takes to earn money to pay for all her dance expenses.
She sold M&Ms in the weeks prior to her summer program to help pay for it, and it really gave her a sense of accomplishment and a sense of realization that money does not grow on trees in our backyard.

Haha I agree (and if anyone DOES have a tree that grows money, let me know!lol). All the money in this fund raiser is going towards their first comp./convention(:

Wow that's a good haul. I'm not a fan of fundraising but things like that just make it easy and worthwhile.
