Next weekend we have our first new shows of the season (a school carnival and state fair) and dd11 is sick as a dog today. Her performance class rehearses this afternoon, and if you miss the rehearsal before a performance, you are out. I would take her to just have her mark the dance, except that she's running a fever, and my dr. told me that you have to have gone without a fever for 24 hours to be considered no longer infectious. So, it's not worth exposing the other girls, but shoot, what a bummer. I'm going to email the studio to see if anything can be done, but I doubt it...

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I hope she feels better really soon and that she may get to dance after all.

Let the one show go by the boards. Your dd's health is much more important and there will be tons and tons more performing opportunities.

I feel your pain. My dd has been out for the second week now and hopefully can return at the beggining of next week. Although she wont be missing any shows, tha amount of class time she is missing is starting to bother both of us. It seems like she shakes one thing and something else comes up. She went from the flu with a mild fever to a double ear infection with an extremely high fever. Luckily her first comp isnt until Jan so she will have about 3 months to catch and perfect the dances. Although due to her absences the trio group might not be an option anymore

Yeah thanks, not the end of the world, just a bummer. She missed 3 months of dance last spring with a nerve ailment, so we are all ready to go and POW! This flu is the worst in a long time, I'm going back to work today after 5 days in bed, hopefully she will be back to school soon (thank goodness dh works from home during the week!) The studio manager was really nice, said they'd try to work in another rehearsal if at all possible, but not to get our hopes up...
