do any of your dancers do any sort of at home/conditioning routine. DD16 is off school for the break this week and doesn’t have dance at all, so she’s wondering if there’s anything she should do at home and for how long each day?

My daughter works out at the gym 3-4 times per week while dance is in session and she tries to go every day if dance is out of session. Right now her focus is on building stamina for solos. If your daughter is like my daughter and most of her friends, it is hard to just take time off and not do anything. It's always a good time to cross train - go for a hike, bike ride, etc.

DD will likely use the treadmill and do some Pilates and yoga on her own this week.

We usually try to set up privates this week - and get in other things like acro - so Friday we have one private and a 3 hour acro (training/open gym session).  Saturday we'll go and run our solo at an open studio at our gym, and Sunday too - if we don't take family trip to nyc.

Rest can be good also if it's just a week and she's dancing a lot the rest of the year.  She can recover a little (she'll be sore after her first class back but that's fine).

Stretching and rolling out her muscles is always good.
