Solos, duos, trios - money goes directly into their studio account.
Group winnings go into our fundraising group (a nonprofit) to benefit the entire team (money in this account pays entry fees and for conventions and choreography).

Just this week we had a cash prize show up on our dance account--- had no idea that was what they did with them. Granted it was split between a large group of dancers and not much at all, but good to know. I feel that is fair.

Solos, duets, trios, keep the money, but the group money actually goes to whichever dance teacher that created the winning dance. They get to spend it as they please, but sometimes they will do a pizza party, or something for the team that won.

A percentage goes to the studio, and the rest gets distributed to each of the kids in the dance as tuition credit.

If the cash prize is for a solo/duo/trio, it is split among the dancers. If it is a small/large group/line dance, it goes to the studio.
