My daughter has JSS tap shoes and they come with the pads for the bottom. She’s doing a solo this year and has had the shoes for several months. She slips sometimes. I’m just wondering if any of you have used the pads and how you applied them.

My daughter has had her JSS shoes for about 2 years, and never applied the rubber pads! We still have them, but I doubt she'll ever use them. It took her a few months to get used to the shoes - we got them in the fall and she had a tap solo that year that she performed starting in December - but she did fine without them.
Of course, this year she decided to do a 40s musical tap number in character taps! After spending so much on her JSS, I was happy to find a pair of clearance character taps in her hard-to-fit size for $20! Those do have the pads, but I can't imagine not needing them when tapping in heels.

DS tapped for years and always had the rubber pads on this shoes. He swore he would never go without and they didn't impede him at all.

I used Gorilla Glue to apply the pads to dd's shoes. My dh had some small clamps that I used to hold the pads in place while the glue set. I did that last August, and it's held up to 2X per classes. There is probably a better way but it worked for us!
