I think I've watched five episodes in all the years it has been on.

Too contrived for my taste.

Eh. I used to love it, but it's become more sap than about the dancing in the past couple years.

I'm excited. I hated the next generation. I know a few dancers who auditioned this season.

Looks like Jason is out and Vanessa Hudgens is in as the new judge.

I finally watched it, and I was very underwhelmed by everyone this week.

I think it will get a lot better. Most of the really strong dancers we know who auditioned and got through did so in NYC.

When the show ends and my dancer could have done the dances equally well, I'm not excited. I'm hoping for more wow out of NYC.

I haven't been able to catch an episode yet, but apparently one of our male dance instructors made it onto tv. in the first few episodes.

I'm just happy there are no kids this year.  Wish Christina Applegate was a judge, I love the episodes where she's the guest judge.  Can't wait to get to the actual dancing.

Been too busy most Mondays to watch, but did see last night's show.  Wasn't impressed with most of the hour.

I did like Claire Rathbun (the ballet dancer from Syracuse), and of course also Lex Ishimoto.  Not srue why someone with Shaping Sound would audition, but whatever, good for us I guess.

Also a GREAT example of using acro/tricks/leaps to highlight dance, as opposed to using dance as an excuse for acro/tricks/leaps.

Glad to catch last night. My daughter danced with two of the dancers at Rock, Claire Rathbun and Zachary Downer. They each made it through. Not sure how far they will go, since they are each dancing with Cats on Broadway, but excited for them!

Lex is amazing. He does everything. Was even at Boston Ballet 2 for a bit, placed at the YAGP finals too. He is still quite young, 19 I think, maybe 20. I imagine that SYTYCD will bring him more recognition outside of the dance world.

I have been waiting to see him on this show from the first time I saw him dance several years ago!

@Noel he is about 5 years older than my daughter, but she got to work with him in partnering class. He was always so kind and helpful! He just has a great stage presence. This is a billboard ad that her was chosen for on I95 in Philly.

We also loved Zachary, but I didn't remember his name.  I won't forget it now.

Dd mentioned some other names of dancers who made it through to Vegas that we have not seen yet. Hoping we see some of them in the next episodes. She has barely watched any of the show in the last few years but will be cheering on those she knows this year- especially Lex. He was her partner two years in a row at an SI.

Zachary is one of the scholarship kids from our studio.  He was only at our studio long enough for our director to work with him though YAGP and get him a scholarship to The Rock (he's also the reason we do nutcracker, they found out at the last minute that they had to pay extra for his academic tuition so my director started nutcracker to raise money to pay for it.).  He's just gotten the role of Mr Mephistopheles in Cats (so I can't imagine that he'll be in the live shows).
