No dress code.  DD prefers to wear a leo for ballet but otherwise usually a tight t-shirt and leggings.

Leo, no midriffs showing. convertible tights. Hair up in a bun. For practice, our studio doesn't care what color/design leo they have. They can put booty shorts on over top of their leo if they want.

Black Leo, pink tights and pink canvas shoes for ballet.  Neat bun with hairnet for class as well - ballet teacher is quite picky.

For the other disciplines, anything goes.  My DD wears booty shorts and a tank top or yoga style capris.

Pre-Ballet: Light pink leotard, light pink skirt, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes with hair in a bun

Primary Ballet: Black leotard, black skirt, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes with hair in a bun

Tumble: Any color leotard or biketard, shorts are optional, bare feet and hair in a ponytail

Hip-Hop: Comfortable clothing, no jeans, and clean tennis shoes. Students should only wear their dance sneakers in the dance studio, not as street shoes.

Summer Sampler: student will be sampling ballet, tap, tumble, and hip-hop. Students should wear comfortable clothing each day that they can move in easily.

Jazz: Black leotard, black leggings or tights (can be worn over pink tights), and caramel jazz shoes with hair in a ponytail.

Tap: Black leotard, tan tights, caramel tap shoes, hair in a ponytail.

Ballet Tech 1-5: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes with hair in a bun. We were told to get a particular ballet shoe for performances.

Not sure about modern. We were told our tech level will be doing that in the fall. However, they will be wearing their black Leo from ballet class.

Dress code is any leotard and tights, hair back neatly and bangs off face. A shirt and/or booty shorts over the leo is allowed for any class except ballet, and bra tops are allowed under the leo, but not on their own as a top. At any time an instructor can ask you remove anything extra that you have over the leo and tights. This is for every class.

Word for word what DD's ballet studio's website says for dress code, maybe we're in the same area?

Ballet is pink tights and black leo and hair in a bun. No exceptions.

Tap, jazz, etc they can pretty much wear whatever they want.

Black leo and pink tights for ballet. Hair off of neck (ballet bun, but they don't kick my DD out of class when she can't manage to do one herself).

A lot of our dancers are in acro, where "booty shorts" and sports bras are preferred attire. They will often wear the same for jazz & tap. Others tend more towards leggings/slim-fitting t-shirts or tanks for jazz & tap.

Pretty much how it works at our studio, though at the highest level they can chose their own leo.  Color (and preferred brand) specified by the school.  Boys in black leggins and white shirts.

Depends on the class..company leo & pink tights for technique classes, black leo with pink tights for rehearsals, modern, contemporary & jazz are black or tan open foot tights with leo (any color).  Pony tails are allowed for jazz & modern.  Buns for all others.  As to the pink tights question - rehearsals require mesh/seamed tights.  Other classes can have the opaque softer tights but they are rarely worn by the older girls.  I'm told the mesh tights are better for the instructors to see & make corrections to lines.
