My daughter is first year soloist. This weekend she competed in the junior level (she had been petite in the previous comps) and in the highest competitive level. That girl ended up with a platinum and 4th overall out of almost 30 solos. I am so proud of her. She's only 9 and doing a ballet solo (some comps don't care for ballet) so a 4th overall meant so much to her.

Also, I wish DD only had 30 solos in her category! There are 92 advanced teen solos at Bravo next weekend!

My daughter's school doesn't ever enter ballet routines at comps. It's too bad, as that is an area of strength for her. But I was excited to see more ballet at our most recent comp. There must have been 6-8 small groups and solos entered, which is unusual for our circuit. Congrats to your dd!
