DD11 was invited to attend Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Professional Division Summer Session for the month of July, and I'm wondering if you know of civic organizations that offer small grants or scholarships for the middle school age, or for the arts? Or, if you have ever applied for anything like that? Between upping my work hours to almost full time and playing taxi driver, there's not a ton of extra time to go through organization after organization's web pages.
I won't have her paperwork for Canadian Citizenship until after the summer session starts. So, we'll be paying the international fees. It certainly isn't inexpensive, especially when you add on airfare to Winnipeg, activity fees, and Starbucks runs. Lol!
We've done the "ask your local businesses" thing a few years back when she did pageants. I can't, in good conscience, set up a Gofundme-type page either. We might do the selling candy bars or lollipop thing - my husband's employer will let him set up in the staff breakroom. I just feel that any little bit will help with expenses, AND DD can take some ownership in this as well, either by selling a product or service, or by writing a letter to an organization.

Did you factor in exchange yet? That will drop you a bit. I know a few moms clean houses for extra money. It can be worked around your current job as well as your taxi service. Is your dd old enough to babysit yet? You may be able to put up an ad at your studio. The younger kids just love when the big girls come to their house. For us right now shovelling driveways would be a huge business.I think we got 3 feet of snow the past couple days.
