My daughter is adulting now (haha), but I've heard a song called "Lost Boy" by Ruth B and have totally choreographed a dance (with costumes) in my head for it!

It'd be great as lyrical or contemporary.

Has anyone heard it and had thoughts on how used it'll be this year?

Heard it last year and we are using it for a group this year.  I say if she likes it, go for it.  I think we put more into this "overused" thing than there really is.

Oh, my daughter is done with dance (except for sometimes teaching), but I like to keep my foot in the door, as it's a pursuit I enjoy observing.

I was wondering if teachers/choreos had picked up on it.

You know you're a dance mom when you always have your ear listening for a potential solo/duo song ....even when your child is done with dance!! : )

(I know I'll be the same when my daughter is done)

I love that song and while overplayed, I secretly thought it would be awesome if my DD was given that song for her first lyrical solo this year!

Heard it a ton last season, and. I'm sure we will hear it lots this season too! It's a beautiful song though, and one both my DD and I can still stand after last season so that's saying something..! [wink]

I love that song and thought it would be nice for my dd's lyrical solo, but I think it will be really overused.

Yes, it will be overused but it doesn't/shouldn't matter. [smile]

One of the dancers from dd's last studio used it as a lyrical solo last year. It was gorgeous, but she had a tinker bell like costume, which I though over the top. Not a true tinkerbell, but more like a green nymph or fairy. I thought it too obvious.

Saw no less than 5 routines to this at each competition.  Wanted that Lost Boy to get lost by July
