Has anyone in the Detroit area done this audition or any of these summer options?

DD16 is interested in attending so we're curious about how it all works.  She hasn't figured out what she wants to do this summer yet.

Any feedback about the audition day or any of the programs is appreciated!  TIA!

My daughter is registered but she's only 11. It will be a long shot for her to get a scholarship as she will be the youngest there but it's also a good learning opportunity for her. We've only done Ballet Detroit's SI and found it to be a well ran program which she's gotten a lot out of the last 2 summers. This year we're looking at Complexions and Eisenhower as possibilities but she's also interested in Blue Lake.

She did.  She enjoyed the classes very much and thought she did well at the audition, but she did not earn a scholarship.  She was disappointed, naturally, but it is what it is, and she now has some food for thought on what comes next.

Did your dd audition?

When it comes to scholarships for dance intensives they're generally fairly rare for girls and they're rare for younger dancers (they're going to spend money to get boys who will allow them to offer more partnering and for older dancers that they see company potential in).  You should not be sad because you didn't get a scholarship.

Yes, my daughter auditioned and surprisingly she got a scholarship. It was a pleasant surprise as she was the youngest one there and our expectations was she was mainly going for the classes and the experience.
