I'm really proud of DD this week. She competed March 31-April 2 and received high gold for both solos(which she finished both two days before she competed them) in the novice category with 7th overall, then this weekend (April 7-9) she leveled up into intermediate because she has two solos and at this particular competition they don't allow a novice dancer to do two solos. Since we were in our hometown and she had people watching her she wanted to do both. At this comp she got high gold for both solos and did not place(she leveled up a division and was competing against more than twice the amount of dancers as last week). A high gold in all levels is A LOT harder to get at the competition we went to this weekend, and obviously harder in the intermediate level than the novice level. She scored at the very top of high gold, and was only a tenth of a point away from a platinum! Her teacher also agreed that her solos were MUCH better this week!

Just came here to brag privately so not to annoy any parents, lol!

Congrats to your dd!  It's so nice to see growth and how they can rise to the challenge of higher levels and its respective adjudication.

Congrats! That's amazing to compete so soon after learning a solo. What an accomplishment!

Thank you! I'm really proud of her, it was a nail biter for sure! We were worried they wouldn't be done in time and that her costumes wouldn't be here, but we managed!
