Yep, I agree with Meatball, all part of the plot.

I get why Chloe joined this horrible show again, but I just can't understand how someone can be so desperate for fame and fortune.

Has anyone seen that Lilly is on pointe at the suggestion of ALDCLA ballet teachers? My dd showed me that and I was shocked; I can't believe that those "teachers" suggested an 8 year old for pointe and that her mom allowed it. That studio gets crazier ever season.

Considering that old episode with the alleged Joffrey Ballet School SI audition where Maddie Zeigler could not hold a passe en releve in flat shoes, and knowing she was already in pointe shoes at that time, one cannot think that their ballet teacher is exactly an expert on when dancers should begin wearing pointe shoes. Looking at the website, her name is Keira Schwartz. She's danced many places and had her early training in Australia where perhaps they also being pointe work early (no clue). This is an age old problem in dance in general. Just being a dancer doesn't necessarily make a person a good teacher.

They moved it again. . . . talk about dragging everything out.  No wonder she's going even more crazy than usual.  All that waiting is crazy

Seems like there is still lots of interest in Abby and her show. I agree with meatball. It's not going anywhere....If they make the episodes, we will all watch. Let's face it. 😉

Entertainment Tonight says that ALM has been replaced by Cheryl Burke from DWTS.

After Laurieann Gibson filled in for 3 weeks, Abby Lee suddenly appeared with a long list of demands including a promise from the producers that no one would mention the word "jail" on the show and that Gibson be banned from the set.

But apparently they were already negotiating with Burke, and they told Miller to take a hike.

http://www.etonline.com/tv/213917_abby_lee_miller_to_be_replaced_by_cheryl_burke_on_dance_moms_exclusive/

I completely agree that all of this seems like a plot line for kick starting some increased viewing numbers, but some people are suggesting that it's a negotiating tactic as ALM angles for a much bigger cut of the pie.

I honestly couldn't care less. I watched this show way longer than I should have lol.  Now all I see is a bunch of moms trying to eeek out as much stardom for their kids as possible.  It isn't really even about dance anymore, just drama.

Idk Donna O, I watched an interview with Abby on E! This morning and it sounds like Abby is done and happy to be out from under the producers. She said she would like to still be involved with TV but not on TV herself.

It sounds like they will take who they can get as far as choreographers to try to keep the show running.

I read somewhere that they were going to bring in Ava's mom to run the ALDC now that she has left Cathy's team.

I heard it's Cheryl Burke who will be running the "team" now.

The info on Ava's mom was from about a month ago.  I did also read recently that it is Cheryl Burke.  Apparently they will be having a couple of more episodes this season.

Season 7B will be the next "season".   I havent heard if it will be going on from there.

When I told DD that Cheryl Burke was the new "Abby", she said she might watch it again, especially now that Chloe is back on.  We shall see.

I will admit, I do love seeing the instagram pictrues with Chloe and the girls.   Hope its not all for show and the friendships are there.

Anyone watched last night? What did you think of the dance?
I honestly agree with the moms saying that it was inappropriate. I can’t imagine a dance like that at a real competition. But I haven’t been to a real competition yet, so what do I know.😄

Not seen the episode, but the dance has done the rounds on YouTube. If any group performed a dance like that at our competitions, at best they would come in last, at worst they would be disqualified.

I have seen almost that exact same dance at a comp about 15 years ago.  It was actually senior group from our old studio and they cleaned up with it.

What about the single ladies dance that made the rounds a few years ago.

Yes, that one would have also been disqualified. I often see young kids doing routines on YouTube that you would just never see here at Australian comps. You almost never see those girating type moves in any dance that seem so common in the dances that you see from the US on YouTube.

We don't see those sorts of costumes either, 90% of dances have kids in tights, we haven't seen the bare legs thing.

Some comps even ban any dance move where the crotch would face the audience, like certain leg kicks and some comps have the no tights no dance rule.

We attended a comp earlier this year where the kids had a suggestive costume, but it was super mild compared to this stuff and they were placed last and called out by the judges for the inappropriateness.

I saw some dances at nationals like this. Senior groups dancing to Chicago and Big Spender. I felt really uncomfortable when watching. But the judges ate it up.

Meh, I can be a bit of a prude when it comes to my own child dancing...and yes I think it was done intentionally to ruffle feathers, but I didn’t have a major problem with it. I’ve seen much much raunchier dances and much much raunchier costumes at competition in real life. To me, these girls aren’t training to become ballet dancers, presumably they want a career of some kind in the industry, so if they remain with dance they are going to be either broadway or commercial dancers. Meaning, that kind of dancing is going to happen at some point. It was very broadway to me. Off to YouTube it and watch again without all the terrible camera work!

Really?  I've seen a boatload of Broadway shows over the years and other than Chicago, I can't think of any where the dancers danced like that.

I thought they looked like they belonged in a strip club.

Agreed.  And just because you may see dancing like that every once in a while at a competition, it shocks people when they see it. Let them dance like that in videos or other types of production work, but not at competitions where vulnerable 5 - 12 year olds are watching and think that's the way an older teenager should promote her body.

As an aside, a few years ago we saw a SPECTACULARLY well danced number at a competition from a very high level elite team.  To think those were teenagers up there was really amazing.  However, the girls' costumes were slit up to here, there and everywhere.  There were audible gasps in the audience and later in the hallways and lobbies everyone was talking about that dance, and it wasn't the dancing they were talking about. People are generally more prudish than you may think.  It doesn't help for shows like Dance Moms to push this envelope.

I’m admittedly not a broadway expert, so I could be wrong on that. But I’ve seen music videos and musicals via movies.

Maybe it’s my area or the comps I’ve gone to, but I’ve seen more raunchy dancing at virtually every single competition I’ve been to. One of the groups we saw a few times known for competing on America’s got talent and was horrifically sexual in both movement and costuming. And they won everything.

I did think the dance moms girls were very sloppy from the parts they showed. And I’m glad they didn’t win for the content as well. I never did have time to watch it on YouTube.
