ITA with heidi459 and tappinmom. I also certainly would not de-lurk to spread this type of gossip. It is one thing to say "I know for a fact Greg is still married and that is why they are hush hush" but to then go on and talk about your assumptions re both relationships is really not in good taste at all.

Well I'm glad to see I wasn't alone

I am well aware that there IS stuff all over the internet.....but that doesn't mean it's true. People seem to keep copyng what they have read from one place to another and passing it off as the ultimate truth. There are websites and facebook pages that pass themselves off as belonging to the girls that, in truth, are not. People everywhere claiming to know the cast members personally or to know someone who knows them. Who really knows what's true and what is not.

While at some level I perfectly understand people wanting to discuss the women and their behavior on the show...... at some point IMO it just crosses the line.

... and this, my friends, is why I thank my lucky stars that I was not crazy enough to get picked for the "reality" show that my daughter and I tried out for. I would be mortified if my personal life were the topic of discussion on some message board (thank goodness I am boring!).

When you put yourself out there in that way, meaning reality TV, you really do open yourself up to criticism, speculation and gossip. Sorry for those kids if it's all true, but it's hard for me to empathize with the adults. It's what they signed up for.

It shocks me that anyone would WANT to open themselves up to this - but you are right, they absolutely did sign up for it and certainly knew this kind of attention was a possibility!

That site is bogus. It says Maddie received a full scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School Los Angeles Intensive with Mia Micheals. The age range on that intensive is 12-25. Maddie must be aging in soap opera time!

I do hear what you are saying and I don't disagree. But ....... that doesn't make it any more right.

And for me anyway, it's not a matter of empathizing with those moms, it's about not stooping to some of the crazy junior high school behavior; the same kind of behavior that people accuse them of and judge them on. I mean really...I'm 50 yrs old with 4 children. I honestly don't mean to come across holier-than-though when I say this but..... this kind of mean-spirited gossiping really should be, and thankfully is, beneath me.

ETA: and fwiw...the above discussion was actually referring to Melissa's boyfriend's wife's personal business. And I'm not aware that she signed up for any of this.

Agreed! I only meant the dance moms, those who had actually signed contracts and agreed to directly participate in the show, that they knew of the possibility that their privacy could be compromised.

Oh yeah! Auntneya was her name (I had to look it up). Wasn't Nia's aunt posting too while season 1 was filming?

Since Maddie is almost the "central" character I bet Lifetime will make them a good offer to stay. Who the heck else will Chloe's Mom complain about???
